Down to Earth Baby is an ethically run family business based in Melbourne. The concept was, excuse the pun,
conceived while I was pregnant. As a vegetarian for over 16 years and a firm believer in
our responsibility to the planet when I became pregnant I sought products that matched
my principles and that were pure, organic and chemical free.

I was disappointed in the lack of choice and
the efforts required to track down and
purchase these products. Then my wonderful
friends sent me a ‘congratulations on being
pregnant’ hamper that unfortunately
contained some items not suitable for
pregnancy. This got me thinking about
creating a business that would source natural,
organic, fair-trade and eco-friendly products
and then combine them into convenient
packs. It was also important to me that these
packs, while making perfect gifts, wouldn't be
full of pretty packaging that justifies sky-high
prices.

I want these packs to be bought by mothers-to-be
or their partners, friends, family members because
they know they are getting quality organic products at down to earth prices.

We believe that pregnancy is a natural wonder; babies are the most precious things in the world. We need to nurture and care for them to the best of our abilities, minimise their exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and be conscious of the impact of our choices on others and the environment.

Our Promise to You

Down to earth baby is committed to providing effective quality natural and organic pregnancy and baby products that are also environmentally friendly. The products we stock are made from natural ingredients and do not contain any nasty chemicals such as parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate, synthetic fragrances or substances derived from petrochemicals such as mineral oil. Where possible products are organic or contain organic ingredients. Where we are unable to source organic products we make sure the alternatives contain no harsh chemicals and are manufactured in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. We are also committed to supplying products that have been ethically manufactured to ensure that growers and manufacturers receive a fair deal. Most of the products are vegan unless they contain beeswax, none of the products have been tested on animals in any way (just lots of happy human testing).
